Richard S. Johnson

Richard (Ric) brings an exceptional level of expertise, skill and experience to Murphy & Murphy law Offices. Ric spent twelve years "in the trenches" defending complex and sophisticated medical malpractice cases, product liability, 18-wheeler crashes and auto negligence cases.

Ric is a true "insider." Before exclusively representing seriously injuredaccident victims, Ric represented large insurance companies defending car crashes, premises liability slips, trips and falls, insurance claims and other complex litigation cases. For over 6 years, Ric exclusively represented doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers and institutions in complex medical malpractice and wrongful death cases. During that time, Ric developed extraordinary legal skills and gained invaluable expertise that he now provides to his clients at Murphy & Murphy Law Offices. While representing doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers, Ric participated in 14 jury trials and prepared the defense of over 30 cases before the Nevada Medical/Legal Screening Panel.

Due to Ric's expertise and knowledge, Safeco Insurance Company hired Ric as one of its in-house attorneys for the state of Nevada. During his tenure at Safeco, Ric concentrated his practice on a number of very significant injury claims. Ric tried cases to verdict within the Eighth Judicial District Court's Short Trial Program. He tried over 20 matters to decision before Court appointed arbitrators within the Eighth Judicial District Court's annexed mandatory arbitration program. Ric also brought numerous matters to successful resolution at voluntary mediation conferences.

Ric's vast experience, knowledge and training is now exclusively dedicated to representing people who no fault of their own have suffered serious, life-long injuries, including brain and spinal cord injuries, surgery, and the inability to work and provide for the well-being and livelihood of their families.

Ric has been licensed to practice law in Nevada since 1997. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1992 and a Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 1997.

Ric serves victims of auto accidents, wrongful death, insurance bad faith practices, slips, trips, and falls, animal attacks and dog bites, brain injuries, spine injuries, back injuries, and other legal matters that require significant courtroom experience.
